June: Pele

8" x 12" mixed media on canvas

The volcano groans,
Tūtū Pele smiles,
The Day has finally arrived
with stealth

The aristocracy bemoans
its fate with guile
& fables contrived
from Wealth

The public coffers are empty loans,
yet leaders pray to the alter of Math
while thieves run for the seven hills
with gold as their epitaph

Yet Earth remains silent
as Pele spreads her hands,
Nature's reckoning of violence,
the only language mankind understands.
