The End of the Line

8" x 10" abstract mixed media on canvas.

And now the shadows gather
over the carcass of a life,
wraiths with power over all things

Actions press into stone,
unyielding, asking payment
to stem the tide of darkness

Judgment states
what is owed, what's been done,
and what is left to see

Broken then, broken now
Tired then, tired now;
Life succumbs to fear

The world sighs a twilight end,
eyes close & skin sinks
embracing fire

The 2nd Death
is a paradox of
wisdom & stupidity

It is done.
